PCs are more customizable but if you want to run Logic, you’ll need a mac, however, personally I prefer Cubase anyway. So for that reason, laptops are a good choice for a home studio given that modern laptops are very powerful. I’m going to mention one other technique because if I don’t I know some smartass probably will. With this style you can even put and handle on it. All the other interfaces require using ADAT to completely bypass the preamp circuit which requires an ADAT converter. Desktop interfaces also put your controls closer to your fingers, eliminating the need for an external monitor speaker controller.
Essentially you want to have a good amount of space to record maybe in front of a green screen or a tv set. This can be achieved in a nice-sized room at home. Not to mention, since there are better tools for live video production, there is no need to worry about needing a very large space if you are building it in a room of your home. All you have to do is be creative with your tv studio layout to achieve what you attend for it to do or produce.
